Cantor Putterman Dies at 79

NEW YORK (JTA) —
David Putterman, cantor at
the Park Avenue
Synagogue in Manhattan
for 33 years until his re-
tirement in 1976, died last
week at age 79.
Cantor Putterman was
also a featured soloist on

NBC for which the Jewish

America cited him in 1969

16 at age 76.
Born in Frankfurt, Mich.,
Mr. Kollenberg retired- in
1974. He owned his drug
store for 47 years. He was a
member of the Aesculapian
Pharmaceutical Associa-
tion, life member of the
American Pharmaceutical
Association and the Michi-
gan and Metropolitan De-
troit Pharmaceutical Asso-
ciations.
He leaves his wife,
Frances; a son, Eugene; a
daughter, Mrs. Richard (Ar-
lene) Gottlieb; a brother,
George of Miami, Fla.; two
sisters, Jennie and Mrs.
Louis (Irene) Lawson; seven
grandchildren and one
great-granddaughter.
