1,000 guests, the American
Committee for the Weiz-
mann Institute of Science
will celebrate the 30th an-
niversary of the institute
with a dinner at the Waldorf
Astoria Oct. 24.
The theme of the dinner
will be "The Pursuit of
Energy," on which the
Weizmann Institute has
been focusing an increasing
portion of its scientific re-
search resources for the past
several years.
The principal speaker
will be Robert 0. Ander-
son, chairman of the
board and chief execu-
tive officer of the Atlantic
Richfield Co.
Another featured speaker
is Sir Marcus Sieff of Lon-
don, who is chairman of
Marks and Spencer, the
largest retail chain in the
British Commonwealth. A
scion of the family long and
intimately associated with
