Friday brings Efraim
Geffen's "Thank Goodness
It's Friday." It includes a
guest speaker on a Jewish
topic; Jewish music; a brief
talk on the Torah Portion of
the Week; and a recipe from
Idele Ross
On Saturday, the English
News Department presents
a summary of the week's
news on "This Week."
There are two addi-
tional English language
programs for overseas
listeners. On Sunday
nights there is "Calling
all Listeners," a mailbox
program devoted to
readers' letters from
around the world, and
one which brings in ter-
rific response both from
Jewish and non-Jewish
listeners. Questions deal
with religion, politics and
all manner of controver-
sial subjects. Co-hosts
are Yishai Eldar and
Rosalyn Gelcer, new im-
migrants from America
and South Africa respec-
tively.
The other program which
is just for overseas listeners
is the very popular "Israel
Pop Sound" on Tuesday
nights, which features Is-
rael's leading disc jockey,
Avi Etgar — the only non-
native English speaker
used by the English Lan-,
guage Service.

NEW YORK — The Arab
League Secretariat has
moved its headquarters
from Cairo to Tunis.
The move apparently
camp as a result of the Arab
League members' anger at
Egypt's peace negotiations
with Israel. Within days of
the March 26 signing of the
peace treaty with Israel,
Egypt was suspended from
the league and members
voted to move the head-
quarters from Cairo t
Tunis.
Retaliating against the
league, Egypt froze its local
financial assets, which
amounted to about $43 mil-
lion, blocked the removal of
documents from the Cairo
headquarters and barred a
move to Tunis by the Egyp-
tian employees, who made
up most of the staff.
The league has been
operating since May from
the Tunisian capital. Most
of the countries that voted
for the move have contrib-
uted little or nothing
toward the expenses so far.

with a U.S. Congressman
and the Spanish govern-
ment and their regard for
the PLO.
Stone blasted Con-
gressman Walter Fauntroy
of Washington for his recent
trip to the Middle East,
where he exhibited- sym-
pathy for the PLO.
In his criticism, Stone
said, "It is indeed ironic that
black people, often the
target of violence and ter-
rorism, now, through the
actions of some black civil
rights leaders, find them-
selves aligned with those
who perpetuate violence
and terrorism."
Fauntroy was part of a
Southern Christian
Leadership Conference
delegation to the Middle
East.
Stone
Meanwhile,
criticized the Spanish gov-
ernment for extending what
he called "a hero's welcome"
to PLO leader Yasir Arafat.

tian Prime Minister Mus-
tafa Khalil said recently
that Egypt is not interested
in a defense pact with Israel
but is interested in a mutual
defense pact with all of the
