THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Avery Cohn, 67 Avery Cohn, a pawnbroker who was active in Jewish organizations in Detroit and Los Angeles, died Sept. 20 in Los Angeles. He was 67. A former Detroiter, Mr. Cohn lived 15 years in Los Angeles. He was a past chancellor of the Knights of Pythias in Detroit and was active in that organization in California. He is survived by his wife, Helen; two sons, Robert M. )etroit and Gerald N. of dulveda, Calif.; two brothers, Seymour and Gabriel; four sisters, Mrs. Isaac (Janet) Trombka, Mrs. Albert (Ida) Karbal of Oak Park, Mrs. Bernard (Marion) Gofstein and Mrs. Bernard (Edith) Zaffern of Oak Park; and four grandchildren. Detroiter Attends Peace Ceremony WASHINGTON — The Library of Congress was presented last week with the 50th copy of "Great Is Peace," the Rabbinic medi- tation on the meaning of peace, which was originally given by Prime Minister Begin to President Sadat at El Arish. Detroiter Paul Zucker- man, former United Jewish Appeal national chairman, who is chairman of the Great Is Peace Campaign in Boys Town Jerusalem, was in Washington for the ceremonies.
