POST

THE REPUTATION of
Margo and Maurice Cohen
as ace party givers goes on
. . . and the saying con-
tinues that when Margo and
Maurice give a party THEY
GIVE A PARTY!
About 220 guests will at-
test to their latest ex-
travaganza . . . honoring
the Bar Mitzva of son Eric at
the Standard Club, Renais-
sance Center . . . There
would have been more, and
Margo and Maurice would
have loved to have them,
but the - only room left was
outside the extra-heavy
plate glass windows.
Seemed like everyone
was going there . . . We al-
most had an accident with a
car in which I know the rid-
ers probably swore up and
down at my almost going
into their lane on the ex-
pressway . . . It was Barbara
and Milt Slobin, Margo and
Maurice's next , door
neighbors and friends.
Try and stop Eric's
granddaddy, Sammy
Woolf, from being master
of ceremonies . . ;No way!
. .. And chills continued
to creep up my spine as
wonderful Sammy
opened festivities by
singing his theme song of
so many many years,
When You're Smiling"
. . . Sammy and Ann must
take looking-young pills
. they both look so
great . . .
Naturally, Sam led the
candlelight ceremonies .. .
and naturally, papa
Maurice closed his eyes and
blew tht trumpet . on "My
Funny Valentine" . . . It was
better than ever.
The setting was so ele-
gant . . . hors d'oeuvres
everywhere .. fantasti-
cally beautiful table cen-
terpieces . . . that big
Standard Club bar . . . a
meal to be remembered .. .
Jerry Fenby's band .. .
Limited Space Disco .
Sam Field doing his fine
caricatures . . . The Bar
Mitzva reception on video
tape by Leo Knight for folks
to see how good or bad they
looked in front of a camera.
Sammy, George Zeff, Max
Sosin and myself in front of
the mike for a song .. .
George later off with his
coat first . . then Dan Top-
per . . . Goldie and Joe Mil-
ler celebrating their 48th
anniversary . . . Joe and
Goldie own five boats .. .
four here and one in Bal
Harbour, Fla., where they
spend six months each year
. . . Bonnie and Joe Stein-
gold discoing and looking
great .. .
Eric's brother, 15-
year-old Jeff, dancing
with three girls at one
time . . . Todd Woolf, Roy
and Jackie Woolf's son,
dancing with Goldie . . .
and another youngster
shocked as he exclaimed,
"Dancing with your
grandmother!" ... Belle

Cohen always smiling . . .
always so pleasant .. .
always looking good.
Bunny Nichamin dancing
with sister Margo . . . four-
year-old Adam Nichamin,
Buriny and Alan's tot, disco-
ing up a storm . . . Seeing
the Woolf kids grow up to be
parents makes me feel like
one of the family . . . and it's
a good feeling. .. .
Scott Woolf, Dr. Roy and
Jackie's son, calling me
Uncle Danny felt good .. .
12-year-old Matt Rubin dis-
coing and Fenby dancing all
evening with his hat on .. .
So many young folks . . . as a
Bar Mitzva should be if
possible.
Dick and Marilyn Sil-
verman in a Drayton Plains
drugstore to buy a card for
Eric, asked, "Do you have
any Bar Mitzva cards?" .. .
"No," the girl clerk an-
swered, but we have pinoc-
chle cards."
VIRGINIA KOZIN is
still the gal behind the
scenes at former Kozin
Kosher Catering at Cong.
Beth Abraham Hillel Moses
. . . Kozin's is now called
Suburban Kosher Catering,
but Virginia calls the good
shots.
BIRTHDAY CON-
GRATS . . . to former bas-
ketball star Sam Lieberman
. to Charlie "Shell Gas"
-
Robinson.
HAVE ANY USED eye-
glasses? . . . This Wednes-
day, the West Bloomfield
Club, in conjunction with
the International Lions,
will collect eyeglasses . . . to
be sent to World Eye Relief
for donations to those who
can't afford eyecare . . . Dr.
M.A. Schwartz, optomet-
rist, has a collection box at
his Old Orchard Shopping
Center office on Orchard
Lake Rd. . . . or call him at
626-9590.
STAGE HAS BEEN set
for a dream come true for
Rhoda Weiss . . . as Rhodika
Studios opened on North-
western, north of 12 Mile in
the new strip of Franklin
Shopping Center . . . The
West Coast atmosphere is
the first in makeup styling
in our area . . . Rhodika cat-

has- publicly introduced a
new book, "The Wisdom of
the Talmud," by the Argen-

According to Mundo Is-

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
The two chief rabbis of
Jerusalem, Rabbi Bezalel
Jolti and Rabbi Yosef
Mashash, issued a state-
ment last week forbidding
the participation in the
High Holy Day services
conducted by the Conserva-
tive movement.
The rabbis said that any
services held in the Conser-
vative style would not be
considered valid. They
called on the public to
attend traditional services.
