appointed director of Cong.
Beth Shalom's High Holy
Days choir. Zipser holds a
Bachelor of Music degree
from UCLA and a Master of
Arts degree from California
State University.
He has studied conduct-
ing with Sixten Ehrling,
Eleazar De Carvalho,
Robert Shaw and Maynard
Klein. He also has con-
ducted orchestras and opera
in Detroit, Cleveland, Los
Angeles, Philadelphia and
Brazil.
Zipser is a former music
educator in Bloomfield
Hills, Detroit and at Cong.

Lecture Slated

review "When Memory
Comes," by Saul Friedlaen-
der 8:30 p.m. Monday at the
Birmingham Temple. There
is a charge, and the public is
invited.

Early
Deadline

The Jewish News will
have an early deadline
of noon Friday, Sept. 28,
for local news copy and
display advertising to,
appear in the issue of
Oct. 5.
Also, the deadline for
the Oct. 12 issue will be
noon Monday, Oct. 8.
However, there will be
no mail delivery that
day and material should
be mailed early or hand
delivered to comply
with the deadline.
