Rabbi Cohen received a BA degree from Yeshiva College and was ordained at Yeshiva University. He has been teaching Mishna and Gemara at Akiva Hebrew Day School since 1974. He will be teaching two Tal- mud courses at the Mid- rasha this fall and a course in the "Talmudic Sources of Halakha." Dr. Starr, assistant pro- fessor at Wayne State Uni- versity and a lecturer at University of Connecticut and Yale University, will teach two courses this fall at the Midrasha. Dr. Starr received a BA degree from Queens Col- lege and master's and PhD degrees in Near Eastern Languages and Literature from Yale University. He has studied Northwest Semi- tic language, Arabic, Ethiopian, Akkadian, Sumerian, Hittite and Mesopotamian history and civilization. He will teach "Near East- ern Mythology and the Bi- ble" and "The History of Is- rael in the Biblical Period" on Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Midrasha.
