LISTENING
POST
25th SILVER anniver-
sary birthday party shindig
by Crescent Shrine, Sept.
15, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue will be one of the
biggest . . . and a complete
package deal beingsupplied
by member caterer Al
Rosenberg . . . $17.50 per
person includes everything
. . . hors d'oeuvres, dinner,
sweet table, Shel Rott, Or-
chestra with wife Vicki
Carroll and liquor on the
house.
Everybody attending will
be given a new quarter
commemorating Crescent's
25th anniversary.
For tickets, Call Sid Ben-
jamin, 353-6454 . . . Harry
Kramer is president of
Crescent Shrine Club.
CONGRATS... to Mari-
lyn and Sid Frumkin on
31st anniversary.
IN AN OPEN space at'
Harvard Row, 11 Mile and
Lahser . . . by the three res-
taurants, is a most interest-
ing couple . . . Cariann Noc-
era sculptures jewelry . t .
rings, charms, bracelets,
etc. without any two being
alike . . . Husband Mark is a
very good newspaper photo-
grapher, but does the cast-
ing for her . . . and Cariann
is a jewelry designer,
craftslady and salesgal who
knows what she's talking
about -. . This couple is
amazing . . . but not as
much as their work with
silver . . . People bring
photographs of their dog
and between Cariann and
Mark, an exact likeness is
made for them.
People would think
they've learned about
jewelry by going to school
. . . It's extremely hard to
believe . . . but very true .. .
that whatever Cariann and
Mark know came strictly by
reading books.
LETTER WRITTEN by
Ben Lusky in Providence
Hospital . . . "When one's
stomach is empty, you refill
it with food. When your gas
tank is empty, you refuel
With gas. When your veins
run dry, you transfuse with
blood.
"Fortunately, the major-
ity of us experience only the
first two, but unfortunately,
I have experienced all three.
I was hit with Leukemia in
February 1978, and have
received many pints of
blood, no doubt prolonging
my life.
"In the 20 some years
with Bnai Brith (Rex Lodge
and Zeiger) I was fortunate
to serve as officers in the
lodge and bowling leagfie,
and on the veterans' corn-
mittee; but the most satisfy-
ing inner feeling that I
achieved was donating ap-
proximately 15 gallons of
blood, thanks to the good
Lord for this.
"Having the personal
knowledge of what blood
does and means, I urge you,
for the sake of your loved
ones, your friends and espe-

can. When you see the motto
`Blood — The Gift of Life,'
believe in it!"
RHEA SCHAEFER,
24-year-old Oak Parker,
will have a one-person
water color showing from
Monday through Sept. 29,
at Oak Park Public Library
. . . It'll be sponsored by the
OP Arts and Cultural
Commission and Titled
"Faces and Figures."
SAM KRONE of Apple-
Crone Laboratories, feels
like the brooder of a family
having sold one of his babies
. . . Revlon bought the for-
mula, trade-mark and name
of one of Sam's products.
Sort of like Col. Sanders
felt when he sold Kentucky
Fried Chicken to Heublein
Liquor . . . Sam met the col-
onel in Louisiana . . . 89
years old . . . living on a
$200,000 yearly salary plus
traveling expenses . . . after
selling his franchise for $65
million . . . It should happen
to Sam!
MAIL DEPT. ... "Since
we are the only Detroit Club
of North Miami Beach, with
a membership of 230, I feel
it is logical that we keep in
contact with all our rela-
tives and friends in Detroit
by telling them of our ac-
tivities and welcoming
them to our meetings
whenever they are in
Florida.
"Due to the untiring ef-
forts of our President
Joseph Milgrom, we have a
beautiful program arranged
for our next dinner-dance,
Feb. 10, 1980 at the
Deauville on the Beach.
"I'm sure all our friends
will be happy to know arid
plan to attend as our affairs
are always a huge success.
"Our ticket chairman,
Lou Corman, will be pleased
to give information if con-
tacted at the following ad-
&fess: 1401 N.E. Miami
Gardens Dr., Apt. E389,
North Miami Beach,
Florida 33179 . . . Phone
number 945-8760."

(Rose) Chubok
AGAIN I REPEAT ...
No letters or items can ap-
pear without the name of its
sender . . . Just give the
word and no-name of writer
will be used . . . but
anonymous-letters or notes
cannot be acknowledged.
BEA LEVEN put her
bifocals down by mistake on
a tray of jewelry and glasses
being sold for $2 at a rum-
mage sale by Sisterhood of
Bnai David . . . Lady paid
the $2, tried on Bea's bifoc-
als and said, "I can't see too
good out of 'em, but I'll take
them anyway." . . . The
bifocals had cost Bea $90.
