Dr. Haber has been a pro-
fessor of economics at the
University of Michigan
since 1936. During this time
he also served as chairman
of the department of eco-
nomics and as dean of the
College of Literature, Sci-
ence , and the Arts, the
largest academic unit of the
university.
Since 1963 he has served
as adviser to the univer-
sity's executive officers, and
as special adviser to the
university's president. Na-
tionally, he has been a con-
sultant to the Secretaries of
Labor in six administra-
tions.
In Jewish affairs, Dr.
Haber has long been a
member of the Bnai Brith
National Hillel Commis-
sion, serving as its
chairman from 1955 to
1963, and is now an hon-
orary chairman.
He also is a member of the
Bnai Brith International
Board of Governors and
chairman of the board of
trustees of the Bnai Brith
Retirement Fund.

the Michigan regional office
of the Bnai Brith Founda-
tion.
As the director of Bnai
Brith's fund-raising pro-
gram in Detroit and
throughout Michigan Ms.
Freund will administer the
Bnai Brith Youth Services
Appeal Campaign and the
Bnai Brith International
Humanitarian Award

American Jewish Congress
announced it would join the
NAACP and the National
Urban League in - Support-
ing the comprehensive na-
tional health insurance
program proposed by Sen.
Edward Kennedy (D-Kass.)
over the program outlined
by President Carter.
Dr. Seymour Z. Mann,
chairman of the American
Jewish Congress Commis-
sion on Urban Affairs, said
that while the Carter Ad-
ministration plan contained
"some positive points, we
believe that on balance Sen.
Kennedy's proposal would
deal most effectively with
our nation's most pressing
