The appointment of Stan- field, the former leader of the Progressive Conserva- tive Party, was expected to delay any moves to imple- ment or reconsider the con- troverisal policy until the middle of next year. It was affirmed in Ottawa political circles that before the end of this month the Inner Cabinet of the Prime Minis- ter will meet in Jasper, Al- berta and that the question of moving the Canadian Embassy to Jerusalem will surface again. A number of ministers say that they remain com- mitted to the implementa- tion of the Progressive Con- servative electoral platform pledge to mvoe the Embassy to Israel's capital. Oak Park CONGREGATION B NAI DAVID MEIR KAHANE JERUSALEM — Jewish Defense League founder Meir Kahane was jailed for three months by an Israeli military court in Ramallah Tuesday, and given a further nine month sus- pended sentence that can be implemented for the next three years. Kahane was convicted of violating an order of the military government for- bidding him from entering the town of Hebron (in light of provocative statements and actions he had under- taken in Arab cities in the past). The military judge said in his ruling that Kahane was a man who believed in what he did and was proud of it; and therefore no monetary fine would be sufficient to deter him. But the U.S.-born Kahane, who lives in the Jewish settlement of Kiryat Arba, near Hebron, with his family was undeterred by the jail term. "I will sit, and I will go free, and I will re- turn to Hebron," Kahane pledged. invites inquiries concerning membership We are a family-oriented congregation located in Southfield.
