NEW YORK (JTA) —
The Jewish Community Re-
lations Council's (JCRC)
task force on missionary ac-
tivity issued an alert, warn-
ing parents to watch for
Christian missionary comic
books being distributed to
Jewish youth.
According to Dr. Seymour
Lachman, task force chair-
man, reports have come
from many Jewish homes
and camps of the dissemina-
tion of Spirer Christian
Comics to Jewish children.
These comic books fea-
ture well-known cartoon
characters, and subtly
suggest that youngsters ac-
cept Christianity as their
"true religion."

Announces The Association Of

Master Plumber

Nearly 400 people turned
out to honor 50 Russian
immigrant boys, who will
eventually undergo ritual
circumcision (brit mild), at
Yeshivath Beth Yehudah
Monday night.
The 50 children honored
at the third annual dinner
were triple the number
honored last year, and re-
presented an increase of 44
from the six boys honored at
the first dinner in 1977.
Certificates were presented
to the honorees and a bicy-
cle will be given to each boy
after he is circumcised.
The program was coordi-
nated by Mrs. Chaim Av-
tzon and chaired by Dov
Loketch.
According to Loketch,
a result of such an event
is a reawakening of reli-
gious interests in the
young immigrants. "Al-
though many immigrants
choose the U.S. over Is-
rael, while in America
they come into contact
with religious institu-
tions (some for the first
time) and may eventu-
ally ckcide to live in Is-
rael."
Mrs. Anatoly (Ludmilla)
Vulmon, mother of one of
the honorees, gave an emo-
tional speech in heavily-
accented English. Mrs.
Vulmon talked about arriv-
ing in the United States
during the Hanuka season
and seeing outward dis-
plays of Jewishness not
