Today's Prayers
Were Sacrifices
of Yesterday

By RABBI SAMUEL J. FOX
(Copyright 1979, JTA, Inc.)

Our prayers today repre-
sent the sacrifices that were
offered in the Temple of old.
Reciting the prayers is like
discharging one's duties to
offer sacrifices in the Tem-
ple of old. This is especially
so because prayers always
accompanied sacrifice in the
olden Temple days.
