Grove in BB Martyrs Forest Memorializes Businessman

A grove of 1,000 trees was Jewish National Fund by
planted last month in the Mr. Silbert's wife, children
Bnai Brith Martyrs Forest and granddaughter.

Silberts came to Detroit in
1949, and he worked in a
pawn shop. He later joined
the late Joe Manela in a pa-
tent medicine store which
was destroyed in the Detroit
riot in 1967. He later opened
a men's clothing store with
Mr. Manela.
Mr. Silbert was a member
of the Radomer Society,
Bnai Brith and Cong. Beth
Achim.
Relatives in Canada
sponsor a perpetual Histad-
rut scholarships in Amal in
Tel Aviv in memory of Mr.
Silbert. In Detroit, a plaque
