Terrorists Get Jail Sentences BRUSSELS (JTA) — A Belgian criminal court sen- tenced the two Palestinian terrorists, who tried to blow up an El Al plane at Brus- sels Airport last April, to eight months imprison- ment. The court found Husseini Rad Mahmoud and Khaled Dayekh Dokh guilty of at- tempted murders, using false documents, carrying concealed weapons and il- legal entry into Belgium. The two men wounded several Belgian passengers when they opened fire in the airport transit hall after being identified as ter- rorists by El Al security guards. The Belgian prosecutor paid tribute to the El Al personnel and said they had used their weapons in an "obvious case of self-defense" and had also protected the passengers in the hall. The defendants' counsel said after the trial he ex- pected the two men to be ex- pelled from Belgium in "the interest of all concerned parties." He that searcheth for evil, it shall come unto him. The Israeli Education Ministry acknowledged that the youngsters were attending missionary schools, but said it was in- vestigating the situation. The Union of Orthodox Rabbis (UOR) said the situ- ation is "enough to make any Jew AO is proud of his or her heritage, religion and culture, sick to the core. The Israeli Parliament and the religious community (in Is- rael) seem to have their heads firmly planted in the Negev sands." The UOR called upon Premier Menahem Begin of Israel and the religious par- ties in the government "to take instant action to right this wrong. This isn't a mis- take; it is a tragedy."
