Technion Student
Gets Architecture
Fellowship Award

HAIFA — Derek Price, a
third-year student in the fa-
culty of architecture and
town planning at Technion -
Israel Institute of Technol-
ogy, has won the William
Van Alen, - Architecture,
Memorial Fellowship
Award.
The eighth annual inter-
national competition was
sponsored by the National
Institute for Architectural
'ucation of New York and
-acted 160 entries from
a hitectural institutes and
universities throughout the
world.
The project was to design
a Center for Minoan Studies
on the Greek Island of
Sanatorini. The students
were given a history and
geography of the island and
specific requirements con-
cerning the design. Price
designed the winning proj-
ect, bringing him $6,000 to
be used in study or travel,
and honorary membership
in the American National
Institute for Architectural
Education.

Israeli Compiles
Diary of Sadat
JERUSALEM — Hebrew
University scholar Dr.
Raphael Israeli has recently
published his three-volume
work, "The Public Diary of
President Sadat."
The books recently were
presented to President
Sadat and also will be given
to President Jimmy Carter
and Prime Minister
Menahem Begin.
Dr. Israeli, of the Hebrew
University's Harry Truman
Research Institute, is an
expert on East Asian
Studies and Islamic civili-
zation. He has constructed
an almost day-to-day diary
from Sadat's public
speeches and interviews
from September 1970 to Oc-
tober 1976.
