LISTENING
POST

CRUISE AROUND De-
troit River by Mr. and Mrs.
Group, City of Hope, was
another big success by them
. . . More than 900 tickets
were sold and 725 enjoyed
the perfect evening . . . Its
members are among the
hardest workers of all
charitable groups . . . never
stopping in their efforts to
raise money . . . -
Those boxes you see at
many places, with candy in
the center and a coin slot, is
the brainchild of Sarah Pitt,
who, with hubby Irv, do-
nates them ... Meyer
Feinstein goes around fil-
ling up the candy.
Like every organization,
Mr. and Mrs. Group has
some deadwood, living in
the past and good on talk
but short on achievement.
First time buses were
used taking folks to the
boat . . . There were three
... and 108 paid only $2
... no driving their own
cars or parking ...
Aboard ship, Sam Field

much fervor . . . Karl and

and Lena Mitchell never
looking better.
CONGRATS ... to
Molly and Philip Rosenthal
. . . on their 50th anniver-
sary . . . to Rose Herman on
her 80th birthday.
THIS SUNDAY will be a
big day at Heroes World,
Applegate Square, North-
western and Inkster .. .
Helping to celebrate its very
successful first anniversary
will be the authentic Spider
Man himself . . . He'll ap-
pear most of .the day at
Heroes Woild to greet the
' children and Varents who
have been so supportive of
its highly-accepted concept.
Spider Man will also sign
autographs and pose for
photographs.
Heroes World opens at 10
Sunday until 4 and it should
be a crowded celebration for
Bunni and Al Lieberman.
GET WELL WISHES

Sy Israel .. .
BIRTHDAY CON-
GRATS ... to Helen Osnos.
ANNUAL SPLASH
PARTY by Knights of
Pythias, No. 55, is this Sun-
day at home of B.B. Bolton
