Italian-Style Veal Recipe By NORMA BARACH (Copyright 1979, JTA, Inc.) 1 lb. ground veal 11/2 slices pareve white bread, crumbled 1 egg, slightly beaten 2 tbsps. finely chopped parsley 1/4 tsp nutmeg 1 1/4 tsps. garlic 1 large can tomato sauce 1 tsp. basil salt and pepper flour oil Mix meat and bread crumbs. Add salt and pepper to taste. Beat egg together with garlic, parsley and nutmeg and com- bine with meat mixture. Form into 12 balls, dredge with flour and brown all over in oil. Add the teaspoon of basil to the tomato sauce. Put browned veal balls into sauce and sim- mer for 30 minutes. Serve over cooked spaghetti or rice. Serves 4. Men's Clubs Win Awards at Their National Convention Cong. Shaarey Zedek Men's Club won the first place Torch Award at the 50th anniversary conven- tion of the National Federa- tion of Jewish Men's Clubs held last month in Philadelphia. The men's club won an honorable mention certifi- cate "for best program of the year." The Adat Shalom Synagogue Men's Club received a first place Torch Award "for out- standing Israel activi- ties" and a second place "for religious programm- ing." The Adat Shalom men's club took a third place "for youth in- volvement" and won an honorable mention cer- tificate "for best program of the year." Elected to the national board were: Carl Lichtens- tein (Adat Shalom) and Abe Katzman (Shaarey Zedek). Both are past presidents of the Great Lakes Region.
