NEW YORK -- Jewish
teenagers in Australia and
South Africa, as well as the
United States and Canada
will once again have the
opportunity to participate
in summer programs spon-
sored by the Department of
Youth Services of Rabbi
Isaac Elchanan Theological
Seminary (RIETS), an af-
filiate of Yeshiva Univer-
sity.
The sessions, called
Torah Leadership Seminars
in North America and the
"Counterpoint" program
overseas, provide an inten-
sive exposure to Jewish cul-
ture, history, law, language
and music. Many of the
youngsters attending the
seminars are from non-
observant Jewish homes.
More than 50,000 teens
have attended in the past 20
years.
