The Best of Everything

(Continued from Page 33)
Gus Karageorgos have done
a super job . . . with business
better than ever . . . Like old
man river, Dimitri's Niko
keeps rolling along . . . serv-
ing good food in a clean at-
mosphere . . . at prices
people can afford . . . In fact,
in those four years, inflatio-
nary prices haven't been
mounted on their customers
. . . Most of the prices have
been raised on an average of
only 20 or 25 cents . . . and
the portions continue to be
plentiful (steak still 12 oz.,
whitefish still 10 oz. etc.).
Nick and Gus have sort of
grown up with their cus-
tomers . . . Originals still
come in ... and their chil-
dren are following . . . This
is a true family restaurant
where it is such a pleasure
when the bosses care more
about their food and service
than the money they take
in.
Sweet, smiling and effi-
cient waitress Mary
McQuire, brought me an
example of Dimitri's Niko
pride . . . the whitefish
with its black skin sliced
off the bottom (one of the
few places that do this)
. .. and hardly a bone to
be found ... There's a
huge menu for everyone.
Food is the thing at Di-
mitri's Niko . . . where
brothers Nick and Gus are
great public relations
people . . . walking from
booth to booth saying hello
and making sure every-
thing is all right . . . This
personal touch is so very
important.
COCO'S IS the name of
the downstairs formerly
known as The Bastille at
Vineyards, Northwestern
and Franklin Rd.
It features an oyster bar,
some new ideas in hambur-
gers, plus very light after
theater and light lunch
menu.
Pierre Fracalanza is at
the piano Monday through
Saturday.
This is the first time the
Vineyards has ever been
open on Mondays . . . The
same menu at Coco's is
served from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Around July 1, the Vine-
yards upstairs will close and
complete remodeling "new
look" will be given . . . It will
reopen around July 16.

plete dinner is now being
