to Stronghold Hirschmann
PHOTOS
Hirschmann described
the objectives of the JNF,
pointed out that one of every
three Israelis lives on JNF
land, on JNF-redeemed and
developed land, and urged
from what began as a footh-
old in statehood into a
stronghold with projects
like the one planned in De-
troit.
Addressing members of
the Jewish National Fund
committee in charge of the
June 20 dinner to be held at
Cong. Shaarey Zedek, Ira
Hirschmann, author of
"Questions and Answers
About Jews and Arabs,"
who helped rescue
thousands of Jewish chil-
dren from the Holocaust as
a representative of
President Franklin D.
Roosevelt and the State De-
partment, urged as a JNF
goal the development of Is-
rael "from a foothold to a
stronghold."
David Holtzman presided
at the breakfast meeting.
He urged immediate reser-
vations for the June 20
dinner by calling the JNF
office, 557-6644.
