MSU Jewish Students Group -
Fights Arab Bias on Campus,

The Israel Awareness
Group at Michigan State
University (MSU) has
played an active role in op-
posing anti-Israel activities
on campus.
Since its inception, in the
fall of 1978, the student
organization has sponsored
a variety of activities. The
events range from distribut-
ing leaflets at Arab
speeches to setting up "Is-
rael information tables" in
the various dorms on cam-
pus.
Sheila Monast, founder of
the group, expressed her
reason for starting the
group in a recent issue of
"The Jewish Voice," the
monthly newspaper of the
MSU Hillel Foundation.
"I get more angry and
sad in my heart when I

see Jews who are embsr-
rassed to be Jews thi
do when I see Arabs
are speaking against Is-
rael," she said.
The final events planned
for the spring term at MSU
are a "kumsitz" (sing
around the campfire) and a
movie and party.
