Communal Memorial Tribute
for Louis Levitan Planned

Leading congregational,
communal, Zionist and re-
lated organizations will pay
tribute to the memory of
Louis Levitan 8 p.m. Wed-
nesday at Adat Shalom
Synagogue.
His
leadership
as
regional director of the De-
troit Israel Bond Organiza-
tion, his Zionist affiliations,
his activities in the ranks of
the survivors from Nazism
and other causes will be re-
counted at the memorial
gathering to which all are
invited.
Adat Shalom with which
he was actively affiliated,
Shaarit 'Haplaytah, Eins-
tein Bnai Brith Lodge, the
Zionist Organization of De-
troit and other causes to
which he devoted his inter-
ests are associating in or-
ganizing the memorial.
David Pollack, honor-
ary chairman of Israel
Bonds, will preside.
Speakers include Rabbi
Efry Spectre, spiritual
leader of Adat Shalom '
Synagogue; Joel Ehrlich,
national coordinator,
American SOciety for
Technion; Herbert War-
shauer, national field di-
rector, State of Israel
Bonds; Frieda Stollman,
communal leader; Louis
Stein, president, Associa-
tion of Professional Per-
sonnel; Philip Slomovitz,
representing organiza-
tions and The Detroit
Jewish community.
The Lubavitcher organ-
izations anahe Jewish Na-
tional Fund also will be re-
presented.
A musical selection will
be rendered by Mary Freed-
land, accompanied by Eric
Rosenow.
Assisting in plans for the
memorial tribute and re-
presenting the local Israel
Bond staff are: Lillian
