As the school year comes
to a close, area synagogues
and temples are making
available the names of their
graduates, confirmands and
consecrants.
Temple Israel will hold
graduation services 8 p.m.
today in the temple. Theme
of the service is "The Chal-
lenges We Face: Jewish
Youth Confront the Modern
World." Speakers will be
Michelle Weinstock, How-
ard Iwrey and Shelly Zeff.
Leading the Torah serv-
ice will be Sharon Fine and
Suzan Folbe, both of whom
studied for six months dur-
ing the past year in Israel

graduation and consecra-
tion exercises 10 a.m. Sun-
day in the synagogue.
The graduation program
will feature a cantata
entitled, "The Hebrew
Calendar Sings for Joy,"
presented by the graduat-
ing class, and written by
Rabbi Israel Halpern,
senior rabbi, and produced
and directed by Dr. Harry
Jubas, educational director.
Participating in the pro-
gram will be the religious
school choir, under the di-
rection of Ruth Gill, and ac-
companied by Chana Wein-
garden. Greetings will be
rendered by Rabbi A. Irving
Schnipper and Sheldon
Fishman, president-elect of
the congregation. Mes-
dames Arthur Smith and
Leon Mondry and Dr. Jubas
will present diplomas, gifts
and certificates. Rabbi Hal-
pern will recite the benedic-
tion. A reception will follow.
