Newsman Martin Agronsky
to Deliver Lichter Lecture

analyst Martin Agronsky
will - deliver the annual
Adolph Lichter Memorial
Lecture, sponsored by the
Lichter families, 8 p.m.
Tuesday at Cong. Shaarey
Zedek, presented under the
auspices of the synagogue
cultural commission.
Agronsky will speak on
"Iran, Israel and the Middle
East."
He began his career as
a reporter for the Pales-
tine Post in Jerusalem in
1936 after his graduation
from Rutgers University.
He was a free-lance re-
porter in Paris, London
and Geneva; was NBC's
correspondent in Tur-
key, Singapore and Java;
and was with the British
army and the Royal Air
Force in the Middle East
and Greece, and served
with Gen. Douglas
MacArthur in the Pacific.
TEL AVIV (JTA) — Fun-
eral services - were .held
Tuesday for two 16-year-old
youths killed when a bomb
exploded on a Tiberias main
street Monday afternoon.
Twenty of the 37 people in-
jured by the blast are still
hospitaliZed, four of them in
serious condition at Ram-
bam Hospital in Haifa.
Killed were Boaz Lahav
of Tiberias and David Lan-
kari of Beisan. Both were on
their way to a meeting of
northern district secondary
school students and
teachers that was to open in
Tiberias Monday, attended
by 7,000 youngsters age
13-16. The bomb exploded
in a trash can as they and
other youths were walking
toward the meeting hall a
short distance away.
An Arab and a Druze stu-
dent from Sakhnin and Pe-
kiin villages - were among
the injured as were two
other Arab passersby. Be-
cause of the tragedy the
meeting was cancelled.
El Fatah, the terrorist
arm of the Palestine Libera-
tion Organization, claimed
credit for the outrage. Is-
raeli security forces con-
dticted a widespread man-
hunt and a number of sus-
pects were reported in cus-
tody.

from abroad to perform var-
ious jobs connected with
implementing the peace
treaty with Egypt rather
than import foreign labor
