Banki points out Those
hostile to Israel use public

made common cause with
Moslem leaders. From their
leadership positions in their

Israel positions.
Both at the NCC and in
every major church group,
there are persons sym-
pathetic to Israel and in-
terested in Jewish-
Christian dialogue, but
they are not as close to the
centers of institutional
power and funding, and are
frequently outweighed by
the various anti-Israel
sources when matters per-
taining to the Middle East
are on the agenda, the re-
port says.
The second report, ti-
tled "Islam' in America,"
indicates that poverty and
lack of opportunity in their
native lands are motivating
thousands of Moslems to
emigrate to other countries,
including the U.S. About
two million Moslems repor-
tedly are now in this coun-
try, of whom approximately
200,000 are Arabs.
In another matter, an
AJCommittee report
stated that West German
history textbooks give a
substantially full account
of the Nazi persecution of
Jews but do not provide
an adequate background
on European anti-
Semitism that led to the
Nazi era.
The AJCommittee also
discussed its pioneering
program in Israel, "Interns
for Peace." Six Arab and
Jewish youth from Israel
_ and 12 North American
youth are spending a year in
Arab villages in Israel.
Another report dealt
with the Arab boycott of Is-
rael and showed that U.S.
trade with the Arab states
has increased every year,
including 1978, which fol-
lowed enactment of anti-
boycott legislation in the
U.S.
U.S. exports to Arab
countries was $4.4 billion in
1975, $6.1 billion in 1976,
$7.1 billion in 1977 and $8.3
billion in 1978.

High level Israeli and Egyp-
