operating funds will be
raised through contribu-
tions. The center, initially,
will operate out of the
ADL's office on Madison
Ave. in Detroit. Michlin
said it would probably open
in the fall.
The ADL Holocaust Cen-
ter will seek to purchase
single copies of most of the
materials already available
on the Holocaust, including
films, Jacobs said. In addi-
tion, plans are under way to
assemble oral histories of
personal experiences of the
numerous Holocaust sur-
vivors living in the area.
In addition to staffing,
Michlin's Holocaust Com-
mittee has agreed to provide
an annotated bibliography
on the materials n the li-
brary.
"The Anti-Defamation
League of Bnai Brith is al-
ready one of the largest pro-
ducers of human relations
educational materials in
general, and also of
Holocaust resource mate-
rials in particular," Jacobs
said. "Nevertheless," he
added, "we will not be bound
only to the ADL materials,
but will seek out materials
from all producers, to pro-
vide the best possible selec-
tion to Michigan
educators."
