Heidi Brancheau of
Heidi's Salons will be mar-
ried May 15 and in lieu of
wedding presents Ms. Bran-
cheau has asked her friends
to contribute to a special
fund for Lebanese students
at the University of Haifa.
Miss Brancheau, of
Christian Lebanese des-
cent, has been active in local
efforts on behalf of
Lebanese Christians and
the University of Haifa.
Ms. Brancheau is marry-
ing Michael Friedman of
Southfield.

Israeli vocalist Ezra will
open the Israel Expo '79 at
an Israeli cabaret 9 p.m.
Saturday in the main
Jewish Community Center.
He will be accompanied by
Abraham Ben-Zeev and his
orchestra.
Ezra has appeared with
several Israeli dance groups
and in the Israeli films, "I
Like Mike" and "Hakibutz."
He sings in Hebrew, Yid-
dish, French, Spanish, Tur-
kish, Greek and Arabic.
Israeli food will be
available. Tickets are
limited and available in
advance at the Center
cashier's office.

Another major feature of
the exposition will be a talk
by Israeli author, journalist
and producer Zvi Kolitz 8
p.m. Tuesday. The film,
"Hill 24 Doesn't Answer,"
will follow.
Kolitz served as a
member of the Irgun and
was active in the political
and literary life or pre-state
Israel.
He has written articles,
plays, stories, and studies
in history in Hebrew and
English. A story by
Kolitz, "Yossel Rackover
Speaks to God," was
translated into 14 lan-
guages.

- Among the activities to
take place during the expo
is an exhibition and sale of
the works of Shalom of
Safkl.
Booths, a trade fair and
singing and dancing will
highlight the expo which
runs from Saturday
through Tuesday at the
main Jewish Center.

El Al to Mark
30th Anniversary,
Joins in Expo

El Al's 30th anniversary
will be marked today with
the distribution of personal
letters and "I Fly El Al" but-
tons to more than 5,000 stu-
dents at area Jewish
schools.
El Al will participate in
the Isarel Expo at the main
Jewish Community Center
Sunday. Israel travelogues
will be shown in El Al's
room. In El Al's booth Is-
raeli wine will be offered to
drink "L'chaim" and treats
will be given to the children.
The winners of El Al's
poster contest will be an-
nounced at the expo 2:30
p.m. Sunday. The judging
committee consists of
sculptress Hanna Stiebel,
painter Deana Sperka and
Ami Spektor, El Al's district
manager.
El Al's Southfield office
has a large stock of new
posters, film travelogues
and slide -presentations
available for area groups
and organizations. In-
terested groups should call
El Al, 557-5737.
