Michigan 48237. 968-0764 was ordained in 1949 by the late Chief Rabbi Isaac Halevi Herzog and was graduated magna cum laude in 1955 from the He- brew University with a master of laws degree. He is a member of the Isarel Bar Association. Rabbi Cohen was one of the last to leave the old city in the War of Inde- pendence. He was taken captive by the Jorda- nians and spent seven months in a prisoner- of-war camp. He later be- came chief chaplain of the Israeli Air Force. From 1965 to 1974, Rabbi Cohen served as vice mayor of the city of Jerusalem. Today, in addition to his rabbinic post, he is president of the Harry Fis- chel Institute in Jewish Law and Seminary for the training of rabbinical judges (dayanim). He has lectured and pub- lished extensively. The honorary chair- men of the banquet are Irwin I. Cohn and Julius Rotenberg. Serving with Salek Lessman, chair- man of the 50th annual banquet golden jubilee, are Michael Karbal, Sam Novetsky and Nathan Soberman as co- chairmen.
