WSU, Hebrew U. Launch Joint Publications Via Schaver Fund Wayne State University President Thomas N. Bon- ' ner and WSU Press Director Bernard Goldman headed a > WSU delegation to Jerusalem this week to an- nounce a joint publication program of Wayne State University Press and the Institute of Contemporary Jewry at the Hebrew -ity at Jerusalem under auspices of the Morris and Emma Schaver Publi- cation Fund for Jewish Studies. The Schaver Fund has supported the publication of scholarship at Wayne State University Press for almost 25 years. The new arrange- ment will permit the WSU Press to publish in the U.S. distinguished works emanating from scholars at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and to distribute these works throughout the world. The first volume in the series is now in production and is scheduled for publi- cation in 1980, the 25th year of association of the Schaver family and Wayne EMMA SCHAVER State. The book is entitled "American Jewry and the Holocaust: A History of the American Joint Distribu- tion Committee 1939-1945" by Yehuda Bauer, professor and chairman of the De- partment of the Holocaust at Hebrew University. It contains the first documented account of the political details surround- ing the efforts of American Jews to save the Jews in Europe from the Holocaust and will create an interna- tional stir when it is pub- lished in 1980.
