motion that was, in effect, a
rebuke to the government
for unauthorized construc-
tion work on Bedouin lands
in the Negev.
The matter is before the
Supreme Court which will
receive a legal opinion from
the Attorney General today.
Nevertheless, the Knes-
set interrupted its Passover
recess for a special session
Monday at the demand of
the Labor Alignment. The
two-hour debate was
marked by jeers and catcalls
from both sides as opposi-
tion speakers attacked gov-
ernment policies generally
and the coalition parties re-
sponded in kind.
At the conclusion, the
government rallied their
majority to kill a Labor-
sponsored agenda motion
that called on the govern-
ment to "observe the law
during the redeployment in
the Negev."
