Mennen Williams, jus- tice of the Michigan Sup- reme Court, will be the sec- - ond Lansing recipient of the Bnai Brith International Great American Award. The award will be presented at a state-wide dinner June 3 at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing. Justice Williams will be cited for "his long record of e'-+inguished public serv- both to Michigan and t U.S. First elected gov- ernor in 1948, Williams held the position for 12 years, longer than anyone the state's. history. Join- - - ing the Kennedy Adminis- tration in 1961, he served as assistant secretary of state for African affairs (1961- 1966), and then as U.S. am- bassador to the Philippines (1968-1969). In 1971, - - Williams was elected to the Michigan Supreme Court r and was elected to a second term this past November. Proceeds from the dinner will support Bnai Brith's youth services, including Hillel Foundations on 300 campuses, the Bnai Brith h-. Youth Organization, and the Bnai Brith Career and L. Its program during the 122 years of existence was geared to the various stages of Jewish immigration to the U.S., encompassing the totality of Jewish concerns - Miss Oesterle Plans to Marry MISS OESTERLE Mrs. Herbert W. Oesterle of Ft. Meyers Beach, Fla., announces the engagement of her daughter, Patti Lynne, to Norman Robert Kanogur, son of Dr. and Mrs. Raymond R. A long list of the most eminent Detroiters figured in Pisgah history when it was the only Bnai Brith lodge in the area. As Pisgah nears its 125th birthday, it is the hope of the leadership of Pisgah that its membership roster will be augmented by a large accession of new members so that Pisgah can maintain its role of leader- ship and historic continuity in Greater Detroit as it has in the past. Engagements Mr. and Mrs. Irving Hel- ler of Beachwood, Ohio, an- nounce the engagement of their daughter, Judith Heller, to Michael Lin- den, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Linden of Oak Park. Miss Heller attends the University of Michigan, where she is majoring in nursing. Her fiance is a senior at U-M, where he is following a pre-medical school curriculum.
