Archdeacon of Oxford Hits
Plan to Repeat Passion Play

BONN — Plans to repeat
the anti-Semitic version of
the Oberammergau Passion
Play were criticized by C.
Witton-Davies, the Ar-
chdeacon of Oxford, and
other members of the Coun-
cil of Christians and Jews,
held recently in the Hendon
Synagogue, London.
Witton-Davies referred to
the Oberammergau event
when he spoke of the Chris-
tian community having to
bear responsibility for much
anti-Semitism. •
The Archdeacon said that
Hitler had been born a
Christian and that Ger-
many, which later espoused
his aberrations, had been a
so-called Christian country.
"It does not take very
much to whip up anti-
Semitism," he said. "In
spite of many public
statements by Christian
organizations in recent
years denouncing it,
Christians should make it
clear that they do not
subscribe to outmoded
interpretations of the
New Testament which
led to anti-Semitism."
The Rev. Graham Jem-
kins, a member of the CCJ
and secretary of a Roman
Catholic commission deal-
ing with Jewish relation-
ships, claimed that
thousands of Roman
Catholic clergy and nuns in

England had signed peti-
tions asking for the "ap-
proved" version of the play
to be substituted but that
the requests had been ig-
nored.

By 1967, El Al was
operating a complete fleet of
pure jet aircraft, and it was
one of the first carriers to
use the most advanced Boe-
ing 747 jumbo jets.

IF IT'S APRIL,THIS
MUST BE
PRIME RIELAGAIN.

April is the month. And prime rib is the special event. (Held over from March, due to rave
reviews.) That's Friday and Saturday nights at L. J. Loophole's.
It's a complete prime rib dinner we're talking about. A nice, thick cut of tender prime
rib of beef au jus, along with soup, salad, fresh rolls and butter, a steaming baked
potato and dessert. All for just $7.95. That's what makes it so special. Along with
John Williams' piano arrangements in the background.
If you missed March at L. J. Loophole's, it's still spectacular
prime rib. So be sure to catch it in April.
