An "oneg Shabat Shalom"
celebrating the signing of
the peace treaty between Is-
rael and Egypt will be held
following 8:15 p.m. Sabbath
services today at Temple
Emanu-El, sponsor of the
oneg.

1 pkg. dates (pitless)

granulated sugar
Cut dates lengthwise, fill
with nut halves and close. Rol-
* lin granulated sugar.

TZIMMES
4 sweet potatoes, cut in half-
inch slices
4 Jonathan apples, cut in half-
inch slices
4 bananas, cut lengthwise
1/2 cup melted margarine (di-
vided)
1 /4 cup honey
1/2 cup sugar
1 /3 cup fresh orange juice
Grease a 2-quart baking
dish. Boil in salted water (1
tsp.) sweet potatoes until ten-
der. Saute apples in 2 tbsps. of
margarine until soft. Combine
rest of margarine, honey and
sugar and orange juice. Ar-
range potatoes, apples and
bananas in layers. Sprinkle
honey-juice mixture over it.
Bake at 375 degrees un-
covered for 40 minutes. Good
reheated.
