I will attempt to give recommendations and locations of restaurants from the well-known and more expensive places to the more remote local places, where you would not likely see another tourist. "On the more expensive and elegant side (and a place Teddy frequents) is Mishkenot Shaananim. A dinner will cost about $15-20 each. Don't miss out on the appetizers, which is the very best part of the meal. Mishkenot Shaananim is located in an area called Yemin Moshe, also known as the artist quarter, but not for the poor artist. The area also has a guest house of the same name for visiting artists and intellectuals (some of the guests have been Isaac Stern, Leon Uris and the list goes on and on). This build- ing was the first built out- side the Old City walls by Montefiore. "Only a month ago, for those who desire Chinese food, I would have recom- mended Mandy's Tai Chai, which is still very good. But my new favorite, is called the Formosa. Recently opened, it is located on Be- zalel St. Do not miss out by not ordering the hot and sour soup, which is practi- cally a meal in itself. A meal will cost you less than $8. "Both of the most recommended fish res- taurants are owned by two brothers. Benny's also located on Bezalel St. is kosher and the spe- cialty is St. Peter's Fish (which was originally only found in the Sea of Galilee). This brings out the question if anything having to do with St. Peter can really be kosher — but it is! The other is non-kosher and located in East Jerusalem and is called the Dolphin. Both offer a full meal at less than $10 a person. OA& - 1101. 1 ■•■ta■ limr. I IN ' Zb).-r-r- j- rnwTir51117 Chef's Specials Served Mon. Thru Sat.
