ings and travels.

Reform Leader Rabbi Polish
to Address Flint Gathering

Rabbi David Polish, past
president of the Central
Conference of American
Rabbis, will be the featured
speaker 8 p.m. Sunday, at
Temple Beth El. The found-
ing rabbi of Beth Emet, The
Free Synagogue of
Evanston, Ill., he is the
author of "The Eternal Dis-
sent," and "The Higher
Freedom." He is co-author
of "A Guide For Reform
Jews" with Rabbi Frederick
Doppelt. "The Eternal Dis-
sent" has been translated
into Hebrew.
Rabbi Polish organized
a series of dialogues be-
tween Reform rabbis and
the kibutz movements,
resulting in the estab-
lishment of a liberal-
religious kibutz in Israel.
He has also begun con-
versations between
Synagogue Council of
America and the na-
tional Council of Jewish
Federations, aimed at
developing a closer rela-
tionship- between
synagogues and federa-
tions.
Rabbi Polish is the
president of _the Chicago -
Zionist Federation and has
recently published a collec-
tion of essays on Zionism,
