stitute for InnoVation in
Education at the Hebrew
University was created by
the National Council of
Jewish Women to deal with
the cultural gap between
Western Jews and their
Afro-Asian brothers.
Two successful proj-
ects narrowing this gap
are HIPPY and Manof.
The former, _ affecting
some 6,000 3-6 year olds
throughout Israel, is a
home intervention pro-
gram which trains the
mother through para-
professional aides to
teach her children educa-
tional skills. The latter
works with marginal
youth unable to fit into
society's framework.
Housed in a dormitory
setting, Manof boys receive
special vocational training,
basic skills courses and per=
sonal attention from
teachers and youth work-
ers. After 6 months, they
"graduate" to kibutz life
and then to independence
and work, advanced educa-
tion or the army.

Cong. Mishkan Israel
Nusach H'Ari is accepting
registration for the spring
semester for its nursery
school. The semester will
begin April 1.

for children age 3-5. Snacks
are provided and transpor-
tation arrangements can be

. The nursery provides a
complete game room and
focuses on arts, crafts,
music, Jewish customs
and preparation for kin-
dergarten. The nursery
gears its education pro-
