ified its procedures in order
to expand special education
courses for children with
.physical, mental or emo-
tional handicaps.
The NBL, which is spon-
sored by the American
Association for Jewish Edu-
cation, is now granting
licenses to persons who
have been certified to teach
such courses by their state
education board and who, in
addition, have accumulated
66 credits in Hebraica and
Judaica from an authorized
Hebrew teacher training
college or recognized in-
stitution of higher learning.
In a parallel move, the
NBL has also determined to
issue special licenses to
nursery and kindergarten
teachers in Jewish schools,
providing they are similarly
certified in their pre-
elementary school disc-
pline by their state eduoa-
tion board and have amas-
sed 66 credits in Hebraica
and Judaica.

teachers in these areas

of the growth of special
education and pre-
elementary school
