Harold Beznos has ac-
cepted the chairmanship of
the newly-formed Met-
ropolitan Detroit State of
Israel Bonds Corporate and
Financial Institutions Ac-
tivities Committee, it was
announced by David B.
Hermelin, Metro Detroit Is-
rael Bonds general chair-
man.
Hermelin stated that the
committee is being formed
in response to ever-
increasing activity in the
corporate and financial in-
stitutions areas in support
af Israel's economic de
velopment program. He
cited the recent involve-
ment of several leading
companies — Chatham
Supermarkets, Manufac-
turers National Bank,

Michigan National Corpo-
ration, and Perry Drug
Stores, Inc. — all of which
supported or sponsored
dinners on behalf of Israel
Bonds.
"We are extremely
pleased to be able to name
Mr. Beznos, an outstanding
Michigan attorney, realtor
and developer, with varied
interests in the general
business community, to this
voluntary post," said
Hermelin. "He is now in the
process of completing the
organization of a represen-
tative group of corporate
heads as committee mem-
bers, and we look to a very
successful year in this im-
portant area of loan fund
sources for the development
of Israel's infrastructure."

Prof. Judith Hauptman-
Adesnik, assistant
dean of the Seminary
College of Jewish Studies
and instructor of Talmud at
the Jewish Theological
Seminary of America, will
speak 8:15 p.m. Wednesday
in the LaMed Auditorium of
the main United Hebrew
Schools for the Bargman
Lecture Series.
She will speak on "Tal-
mudic Legislation Affecting
Women." Theme for the
series is "Feminism in
Judaism."

gree from Barnard Col-
lege, a master's degree
and BHL degrees from
the seminary. She also is
enrolled- in the doctoral
program in Talmud at the
seminary.
She has lectured in New
York and has written for

Israeli Christians
Focus of Program

"The People of Nes Am-
mim" will be the feature of
Bill Moyers' Journal to be
aired 10 p.m. Monday on
Chanriel 56.
Nes Ammim is a Chris-
tian community located in
Northern Israel which was
established after World
War II. Its population is
comprised of persons from
Holland, Germany, Swit-
zerland, Canada, England,
the U.S. and Sweden who
say they came "to live in sol-
idarity"with the Jews of Is-
rael while retaining their
own Christian identity.
The people of Nes
Ammim said that they are
living in Israel as a sign of
friendship and in an effort
to accept and to take re-
sponsibility for the "out-
rage" of Christian anti,
Semitism throughout his-
tory, and specifically during
the Holocaust.

Medical School
Project in Israel
Topic of Program

The Ben-Gurion Univer-
sity of the Negev Center for
Health Sciences will be the
focus of the NOVA program
to be aired 8 p.m. Thursday
on Channel 56.
The center emphasizes
Bare of the entire patient
rather than focusing just on
disease. The "Beersheva
Experiment," title of the
episode, is also the name of
the project attempted by the
center in which the univer-
sity and the predominant
health agencies in the area
aim to integrate the health
care system with the train-
ing of the doctors.
The emphasis throughout
is on consideration of the
health problem in the larger
context of the patient's fam-
ily and community.
