Evidently not to California Gov. Jerry Brown, who is due in New York this week for a series of events that will include a meeting with some top Jewish leaders. The meeting, according to informed sources, will be chaired by Howard Squad- ron, president of the Ameri- can Jewish Congress. The meeting, the sources emphasized, will afford Jewish leaders who are un- happy with President Car- ter an opportunity to chat informally with a leading political figure who has said that he would like to make a bid for the Presidency in 1980. t c ANKER4IA 1°‘ Disc Jockey nr4e "The Best Disco In Town" Parties, Dances & Special Occasions 546-5797 - 544-0454 LIGHTS - SOUND - EXPERIENCE • tables prestige laminates • desks glass, mirrored • credenzas lucite • wall units upholstered tables, • cabinets benches • brass, wicker headboards • special discount prices • • • • We Come To You!!! Muriel Wetsman 354-4126 Federation Apartment Residents Aided by Junior Division Book Moving to a new resi- dence can be a staggering experience, especially for persons who trade a house for an apartment. For those moving into Jewish Federa- tion Apartments, the move may be a little easier now, thanks to a booklet pre- pared by the Jewish Wel- fare Federation Junior Di- vision. The just-off-the-presses book includes information about the community of interest to senior citizens, as well as information about the services and facilities of the Apartments, a member agency of the Jewish Wel- fare Federation supported by the Allied Jewish Campaign-Israel Emer - gency Fund. The book lists regulations of the Apartments, in- structions on how to adjust the heater and defrost the refrigerator, emergency in- formation, nearby synagogues and temples, - restaurants, banks and food and drug stores. Also in- cluded are descriptions of the services available at the Jewish Community Cen- ter's 10 Mile Branch, next door to the Apartments, and the Oak Park Senior Citi- zens' Recreation and Serv- ice Center. Much- of the' informa- tion was requested by Apartments residents, said Executive Director Helen Naimark. Martin Eden, the facility's "resident artist," designed the cover of the booklet, whose pages are fire-engine yellow to make reading easier for the resi- dents. The booklet project began with a small Junior Di- vision study group and grew until 22 young adults were involved, said committee Chairman Shelley Navarre. The completed booklets were distributed Feb. 13 at the February birthday - party. Every month one or eatorgn. ,otinzan.
