The event is being held in
cooperation with the Jewish
National Fund. The sixth
Metropolitan Detroit Bnai
Brith Forest will be
launched.
The brunch will honor
Ralph Miller, president of
the B.B. Men's Council, and
Belle Ruben, president of
the Women's Council, with
the planting of a garden of
100 trees for each. The
presidents of the 24' lodges
and 25 chapters and units
also will be honored.
Special citations will be
awarded to tree and tribute
chairmen. Louis Segel, past
president of the Men's Bnai
Brith Council; Eadie' Al-
bion, past president of
theWomen's Council; and
Harold Jaffa, also a Council
past president, are the
brunch co-chairmen.
Evans was a CBS-TV
correspondent for many
years and right hand man
to the late Edward R.
Murrow in the U.S. In-
formation Agency.
Evans, as CBS bureau
chief in Moscow, covered
the revolts in Hungary
and the invasion of
Czechoslovakia and the
trials of the dissidents.
He was a war correspon-
dent in the Middle East dur-
ing the Six-Day War and
has interviewed the top
leaders of Israel. He
traveled by jeep through the
entire Middle East to Af-
ghanistan and was in China
and India. He was in Ger-
many when the wall divided
Berlin and in Washington
during many crises.
Evans now creates TV
`documentaries and films.
Admission to the Bnai
Brith brunch is by the pur-
chase of a minimum of three
trees per person. For infor-
