Halper, a student at the Midrasha-College of Jewish Studies, will receive the Bernard Isaacs Faculty Award of the Midrasha at the first program in the Mina and Theodore Bargman Lecture series 8:15 p.m. Tuesday in the main United Hebrew Schools building. Named for the first superintendent of the United Hebrew Schools, the award is given to Midrasha students who demonstrate a high level of learning and commitment to Jewish learning. Halper holds a master's degree in Germanic lan- guages from Wayne State University, and reads, writes and speaks six languages. Halper was the author of "A Comparison of Several Biblical Passages in He- brew With Their Transla- tions Into the Yiddish, English, Latin, French, Russian and German Lan- guages."
