Tributes to Leaders Sought remember the great educator and first superin- tendent of the United He- brew Schools, Bernard Isaacs of revered memory? For decades he idealistically and de- votedly headed, built and led our Jewish commu- nity's Hebrew schools. He, moreover, was an outstanding Hebrew " author and scholar. It is, therefore, incredible and inconceivable that no Hebrew school, hall or even 4 1 N Tj i closet has been named in his and honor. DAY (I) memory I wonder if the present lay professional leaders of FEBRUARY 14TH and the United Hebrew Schools have ever thought of 16-DIAMOND memorializing the name of CUPID PENDAN the architect of the schools IN 14K YELLOW they now represent. • GOLD They can still do it. It is Naum s SPEC never too late. 1/3 Editor, The Jewish News: Is it a lack of a sense of history that Jewish corn- munity leaders and builders are forgotten soon after 4heir deaths? Or is it a lack of apprecia- tion for their past com- munal accomplishments and contributions?
