Franklin Award in Human Relations presented by Temple Beth El and Wayne State University from Mrs. Mary Shapero, secretary of the Franklin Fund for Temple Beth El, and E. Burrows Smith, associate provost at WSU. The award is presented annually to a_ student, alumnus, faculty member or individual iden- tified with WSU who has made a significant contribu- tion to the field of human relations. Gullen received the award at a Jan. 18 luncheon at the Engineering Society of Detroit. The award is named in honor of the late Leo M. Franklin, rabbi of Temple Beth El from 1899 to 1941.
