"I thought your readers might be interested in knowing that London, Ont., finally has come of age — it now has a deli and .a darn good one at that. I can think of no better way to break up the monotony of a drive down 401 from Detroit to Toronto than to stop at the halfway mark and grab a corned beef at Nathan's. Downtown London is only a short dis- tance from the Wellington Rd. exit on 401. "And if you are visiting London, a beautiful place to spend a quiet weekend, Nathan's is an even greater delight. Considering it is only two hours away, Lon- don's eateries have left a lot to be desired, especially when it comes to finding one open on a Sunday. Fortu- nately, Nathan's is open on Sunday, and also has a liquor license. Honest, I'm not his pr man, just a satis- fied customer anxious to spread the word about a for- tunate discOery." — DINNER SPECIALS 44 (The Best of Everything Al Abrams MOTHER • AND DAUGHTER hat check team at Jakks, 10 Mile and Greenfield, is Ruth and Mindy Klein. Both U.S. and Israeli offi- cials agree that when the helicopters left Haifa by freighter in October 1968 they were supposed to go to Singapore. Instead they ar- rived in Rhodesia. State • Department spokesman Hodding Carter confirmed that the sale by Israel was ap- proved by the U.S. De- partment of Commerce. He would not reveal what country was originally scheduled to receive the helicopters. He said the in- vestigation is continuing.
