The nursery program of
United Hebrew Schools, a
member agency of the
Jewish Welfare Federation,
has come a long way from its
beginnings in the 1950s.
Children of former pupils
are now starting to enroll in
the program.
Scott Weinstein, 3, is the
school's first second-
generation pupil. His father
Lee, 26, went to the UHS -
nursery school 24 years ago.
Scott even has two of the
teachers who taught his
dad, Reva Klaymer and
Sylvia Handler.
Weinstein has a few vivid
memories of his nursery
school days. He brought

sion. of his 86th birthday.
The party will be held in the

Miller of Livonia. Gorney
has five grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren.
He will mark his birthday

at services Jan. 19 at Tem-
ple Beth Jacob on the occa-
sion of their 50th wedding
anniversary. A reception
given by their children will

senior Dicksteins have nine

The senior Dicksteins
have owned and operated
the Bobette Shop in
downtown Pontiac for the
past 46 years. They were
married Jan. 20, 1929, in
Flint.
