On that page the date re- minds of the Central High 1937 class get-together at Roma's of Bloomfield . . . beginning with a social hour at 6:30. It seems early, but with 1936 and 1938 probably also being invited along with the large '37 class, graduates are urged to arrange im- mediately for their tickets .. "Marty Robbins was a happy hubby last week, when he brought home a new record player to thrill wife Betty on her birthday . . . and then went up into the attic to get a huge stack of recordings he had hidden away . . . It wasn't long be- fore Betty thought the entire city was shooting firecrackers to celebrate her birthday . . . until she dis- covered that it was only Marty . . . He had stum- bled on the stairs and drop- ped the entire collection of discs in a loud clatter . . When Betty finally man- aged to grope her way through the massive rubble to see what had happened, there was Marty sitting on the bottom step holding the only record that had stayed in one piece . . . 'Oh well,' he muttered, holding up the unbroken platter, 'this is the only one I wanted you to hear anyway!' " MARCH 29, 1968 . "Lisa Gladstone brings us this cutie from the Oak Park Library . . . A small boy, paying a two-cent fine for an overdue book, looked thoughtfully at the libra- rian and asked, "Can you make a living out of this?' " APRIL 26, 1968. . .
