TEL AVIV (ZINS) — Is-
raeli author Amos Elon has
charged that Golda Meir's
memoirs and Yigal Allon's
"Keshet Lochamim" were
actually written by Rena
Samuel of Rehovot. He also
claims that a. large part of
Abba Eban's "My People"
was written by Neal Cas-
sadeau of Commentary
magazine.
Henry Kissinger Lauds Golda,
Visits Old City of Jerusalem
JERUSALEM (JTA) —
"If it had not been for Golda,
Israel would riot have come
out of the Yom Kippur War
the way she did. If it had not
been for Golda, you would
not have overcome." Those
words were spoken by
former U.S. Secretary of
State Henry Kissinger
Elon said that Moshe shortly after he attended

biography of Teddy Kollek.
"Usually, when I dealt
with foreign policy I did not
allow myself to be involved
emotionally," Kissinger
said.' "With Gelda it was
different. My wife used to
'say that the arguments be-
tween Golda and myself
were among the most suc-
cessful dramas she had ever
seen.
"Golda was a great
leader, beyond Israel's
boundaries. She was an
example in her own char-
acteristics — power, under-
standing and sentimental-
ity. She showed an extraor-
dinary integration of tre-

mendous power and
humaneness . . . She united
around her the state and
one can say that it was
Golda who began the peace
process," Kissinger said.
He noted that she alone
had the power to sign the
separation of forces
agreement with Egypt'
two months after the Yom
Kippur War. "One should
remember that the
agreement has worked
for more than five years
and by all signs it would
hold even longer. That
was her achievement, but
one tends to forget it."
Last week, Kissinger'
made a full, tour of
Jerusalem, including the
Old City which he had never
visited as a U.S. diplomat
during more than 50 tips to
Jerusalem.
Kissinger said, "They
should find a way to live to-
gether in Jerusalem with-
out dividing the city." As
Kissinger passed through
the Jaffa Gate into the Old
City he joked, "Now is when
I get into political trouble."
