Graham Book
Tells Israel Link-
Pocket Books, a -division
of the Simon and Schuster
publishing company, has is-
sued as a paperback "Billy
Graham — His Life and
Faith," which, in the course
of presenting the
, Evangelist's religious
views, lends strong support
to Israel. ,
Author Gerald Strober
states in part:
"It is, therefore, under-
standable that evangelicals
follow events in Israel very
closely, and Graham is no
exception. He has visited-. Is-
rael many times and some of
that nation's political lead-
ers arenumbered among his
close friends.

"In 1970 World Wide
Pictures, the Graham
organization's film suli-
sidiary, released a stir-
ring hour-long produc-
tion filmed on location in
Israel and - entitled `His
Land.' The _film, which
shows the reality and
dynamism of modern Is-
rael, -relates Bible
prophecy to the restora-
tion of the Jewish State.
Within a two-year period
over 10,000,000 people
viewed - the film, and it
remains one of the all-
time favorites in the
Graham film library.
"In 1975 Graham visited
Israel and spent a whole day
inspecting sites of religious
interest in Jerusalem. At
the end of the day Graham-
visited the Hadassah Hospi-
tal where several people
wounded just the week be-
fore in a terrorist bombing
lay -recovering. -
"Graham walked up and
down the ward stopping at
each bed to give a word of
cheer and support. At the
end of the room one bed was
surrounded by medical
equipment and devices
which monitored the condi-
tion of a man hurt very crit-
ically by the blast. The man
could not speak, but after
Billy whispered something
in his ear, he looked at the
evangelist and, using up
most of his available
strength, moved his lips in a
silent thank you. Tears wel-
led in the evangelist's eyes
as he and his associates left
the hospital.
"A few days after
- Graham's visit to the Holy
Land, Prime Minister Yit-
zhak Rabin told an aide,
`Billy Graham is one of the
world's finest gentlemen.
e has been a true friend of
el and he is always wel-
e in our country. There
is simply no question but
that evangelical Christians
,_3 have been our staunchest
American supporters in our
struggle to exist as a free
and independent nation.' "
