TEL AVIV (JTA) — Mark
Siegel, President Carter's
former adviser, who res-
igned his post in protest
against Administration
policies which he felt were
harmful to Israel, has been
named director of the
Heliothermal - Miromit
Corp., an Israeli-American
enterprise dealing with
solar energy.
The announcement was
made by Itzhak Matza,
chairman of the board of the
corporation, which man-
ufactures and distributes
solar energy equipment and
components throughout the
world, and managing direc-
tor of Miromit Ltd., the Is-
raeli company which de-
veloped and planned the
fuel-free hot water system
and the solar heating collec-
tors.
Miromit, operating in Is-
rael for two decades, merged
last year with the Arherican
Heliothermal Corp. of De-
nver, Colo., which already
installed Israeli-made solar
heating equipment in the
U.S.

PFLP Member
Jailed in Canada-
MONTREAL (JTA) — A
32-year-old- Palestinian,
Mohammed Khalil-
Abotouha, is in the custody
of Canadian security police
since his arrest last week in
Montreal, charged with "in-
fractions of the Canadian
immigration law." .
He is according to the
Royal Mounted Police, one
of the leading members of
the Popular Front for the
Liberation of Palestine. Be-
fore coming to Montreal, he
lived in the Washington,
D.C. area, police said.
The authorities intend to
seek his deportation on
grounds of allegedly enter-
ing Canada under false pre-
tenses and also because
there is a strong link be-
tween him and another
member of the Popular
Front, a Lebanese named
Bassam Muhammed Ferkh,
24, who studied English in
Edmonton, Alberta. Ferkh
was deported from Canada
Nov. 3 and is now reported
to be in a Beirut jail in cus-
tody of Lebanese
authorities.
Both individuals are
charged with having par-
ticipated in the murder of
the U.S. Ambassador and
his economic counselor
while they were trying to
cross from the Moslem sec-
tor of Beirut into the Chris-
tian sector on June 16, 1976.
Officials here said they ex-
pected the pair to be
charged with those killings.
