The exchange rate of the
U.S. dollar will reach IL 26
at the end of the next fiscal
year, according to the draft
budget prepared by the
Treasury.
The dollar now stands at
19 Israel Pounds. But with
an expected devaluation
rate of some 40 percent until
April 1980, the dollar will
cost seven more Pounds.
By April 1979, the
Treasury expects the dollar
to stand at IL 22, a devalua-
tion of 15 percent. ,

bility for "these cowardly
and criminal deeds have
identified themselves in
telephone calls to the
media as members of a
Jewish group."
Mann declared that
"these persons have no war-
rant to speak or act for Is-
rael or for the American
Jewish community."
In denouncing the fire-
bombing in San Francisco,
Siegman said "those who
committed this criminal act
share not only the methods
of the PLO, which is to use
violent means to terrorize
their opponents, but also
the goal ofthe PLO, which is
to sabotage the chances of a
peaceful settlement of the
Arab-Israeli conflict."

Four Die in Bus
Attack in Israel

TEL AVIV -(JTA) —.The
fourth fatality in the attack
On the bus near Jericho two
weeks ago was identified as
a 26-year-old k ibutznik
from Kibutz Mitzpeh
Shalom, Aryeh Bentovim.
He was on his way to Ben-
Gurion Airport from where
he was to proceed for a
10-day vacation in Cyprus.
Meanwhile, the United
States government Monday
condemned as "mindless
violence" the terrorist acts
in Israel and the West Bank
and named two Palestinian
Arab groups as "appar-
ently" having taken "public
credit" for them.
State • Department
spokesman Hodding Carter
said that his news reports
have named the El Fatah
and the Popular Front for
the Liberation of Palestine
as having taken credit.
Both are constituent mem-
bers of the Palestine Libera-
tion Organization.
